JHS Pollinator power issue?

Hi guys - brand newbie here, I've been making and repairing my own pedals for a couple of months now, and my friend has given me a JHS pollinator. Once plugged in, it powers up and switches off, only to repeat the process. Essentially the pedal is like a flashing bulb (but with intermittent sound when it's active).

I thought this might be a capacitor issue, but after speaking with JHS, they suggested checking the 1044 chip. Does anyone have any experience of this happening, and if so, how did you solve it? This pedal hasn't even been used, so it's not an overuse issue.

Thanks

Then it's a warranty issue and you probably must not procced to any action which could violate respective terms.. :icon_wink:

More seriously:
A schematic of voltage converter circuitry should help..
(switching capacitors performance may fail either by themselves or by the "switcher"..)
