Can anyone advise me of the best way to ascertain what power a pedal requires for optimum use using a multimeter, i'm perhap's looking to run 6 different pedals from one power source and just want to be sure as I know that delay pedals etc dont operate properly without the correct power source.

RG's got an article about PS's [at least one], these things can be noisy to use with more than one pedal...6 off one? probably gonna get noise without some isolation of the ground loop and reduction of PS 'ripple'.

Thanks Pete, I suppose I could perhaps use two or three separate regulated wall warts it's just that I really don't like multieffect processors as they sound very digital and sterile to me and the overdrives are usually terrible and dont react to the guitar volume like individual pedals. I do a regular gig that covers a lot of different types of material so I need to have a selection of things  like Trem Chorus Delay etc etc as well as overdrives.

If you're like me, the only thing I have that's digital is the Boss Reverb Echo [I could'nt just eliminate that...I gotta have reverb...].
I've tried digital and they have their uses [I owned an Rp100], sorry if you're a digital freak, but I've tried both and I'm a died inthe wool analog fread.
Using separate wallwarts [so you're having no more than 1-2 efkts 'per'], helped me rid alot of the noise from my multipedal [7~] rig.
Also switching them around [matching power supplies to the pedals that 'like them] got the noise dowm some for me too.
I use rechargable batteries alot. I have four of them. [Well I do have some additional brick sized alarm rechargeables also and RC car batteries too]. I noticed a definite lowering of noise using even one battery [often times it is just one pedal that makes alot of noise or two together...puttting a battery on just one can reduce noise.
I've seen mention of putting a cap to ground on a [wallwart] PS or some resistor type mod, but have never tried them. they may reduce PS ripple?.
