Looking for the service manual for the M117 flanger.

Not the layout
Not the schematic

Can someone send me the file or kindly provide a link from the internets?

Thanks  ;D

I don't think this has ever circulated. What is it that you want to know?

You could try writing a nice polite letter (remember those?) to the company that makes the MXR range, like we used in the 1980s :icon_biggrin:

Ahhh yes. I remember that thread very well. There is a lot of good information in it however, there is no mention of a service manual anywhere.  8)

What is it exactly that you are looking for in the service manual (if one even exists :icon_question:) that can't be figured out here? It really is a very straight foreward circuit in the realm of flangers. It's not like an Eventide. I have a bunch of 117's and would be happy to post any V's needed to get yours & anybody else's up & running. IIRC, they were posted. Just can't seem to locate them right now. C'mon; we can get this figured out! There are alot of really good folks who are willing to help. :icon_cool: :icon_cool: :icon_cool:

Actually, I am interested in finding the factory alignment procedures. I know that there are procedures from oldschool and Fender3D on various threads here BUT, I was interested in seeing how MXR did their set-up. Thats it.

I should think that the set up procedure is very much like that of the EH Electric Mistress, which is around here somewhere.

There's a sheet explaining the stereo chorus alignment procedure on the net...
Just substitute the clock frequency with that measured by Dave on his units and you'll be an MXR guy

Thanks all!  ;D

I appreciate all of the inputs. It seems that the service manual for this unit was never released, leaked, shared, etc.  :icon_cry:

I was hoping to get my build set up AS PER factory spec but, there are a lot of helpful alignment suggestions and how-to's provided on this site so I will have to use those. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy to have those  ;D

I guess I was just hoping that MXR put out something like BOSS or IBANEZ does with their service notes. BOSS and IBANEZ service notes are great in that they include EVERYTHING needed for tuning including snap shots of the waveforms or what they should look like at certain test points.

here you can find the stereo chorus docs. (somewhat difficult to read, but understandable)  :icon_razz:
just check which trimmer does what and "translate" it all for your flanger.

no waveform though...

Thanks Fender!

Now.... how do I get the file big enough to read?  :icon_redface:

Either I am very old -OR- the text on that file is very, very small!

I'm very old for sure  :icon_mrgreen:

saving the image, then with a little zoom...
you'll show 5 or 6 years less...

Already ahead of ya'  ;)

Unfortunately, someone made hand-written coments and changes and:

1) I can't read all of them
2) I don't know if they apply. Like in Step 3 it looks like someone wrote "counter" in the header to say "Turn the manual control fully counter clockwise"

I guess I will just use the processes that you and oldschoolanalog posted in the past and just wing-it  :icon_rolleyes:

Hi Govmnt,
did you ever find the service manual or were you able to the alignment on this pedal?

I am also interested in finding the factory alignment procedures, someone messed a lot with the trimmers on my original M117,
I bought it used and would like to calibrate it to factory specs.

Anyone else has done this an has info that can be relevant?

Thank you so much

Never found the factory info but, the linked thread above will get it as close to factory as you will find.
