Vol and Tone pots for Vox Repeat Percussion

Hi! I've build a Vox Repeat Percussion following this layout (the second one):

https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/08/vox-repeat-percussion.html

I've added a switch for rate speed. Playing with different cap values and the 47k resistor you can get from very very slow to very very fast. I'm happy with that mod.

About the Depth pot...I like it, since I find the subtle "tremolo" quite usable. As you turn the depth pot clockwise you get more percussive tremolo as expected, but you lose some volume and the sound becomes duller, it does lose treble. So I'm thinking about adding both volume and tone pots. I'm going to use this idea:

http://www.muzique.com/lab/swtc.htm

I think that I have to remove the 1M resistor to ground and use a 1M pot for volume, but not sure. I'm also lost about the other values...if I'm not wrong a 100k pot for tone would be ok. Any suggestions for R1, R2 and cap? I'm going to use sockets so I can try a few values.

Should I remove the output cap as well?

I'd really appreciate your help!

Adding the SWTC to the end of this circuit replacing the 1M resistor will actually lower your overall volume. It might not be a very big drop, but it's not going to improve things at all volume wise because it is entirely passive. Effectively what it would do is allow you to reduce the volume of the lower frequencies to match the higher frequencies and balance out the tone. The volume problem might be solvable through other means - see https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=113515.msg1051360#msg1051360. Barring that, what you would need to do is first boost the overall signal output actively, and then attenuate and adjust tonal balance using the SWTC.

Hi. I've lowered the emitter to ground resistor (1k5) of one of the MPSA18 transistors without success, it only make it less chopier and no more volume. I'm going to try lowering the input resistor.

With the depth pot fully clockwise (choppiest setting) it's around unity so I hope I could get just a little more of volume  so the tone control make sense.

Thanks!
