I guess this has been already addressed here.
Just want to flag this ebay seller by the name moduleme.
After getting 10 pcs of their fake CA3080E chips I requested a full refund.

5GBP was the price I paid.
After some back and forth I got fed up and I agreed on a 3GBP refund.
That was on April 23rd.
Still no refund and no answer.

Avoid this seller!

I had the exact same issue. Definitely one to avoid. Thanks for flagging this up here.

With the Rochester reissues (from Thonk, Smallbear), there's no real need to take your chances with dodgy dealers on the bay.  But good to know for those who like their e-tail experience to be white-knuckle.   :)

I had the same issue, also with AD633's, a couple of months back. Can't recall the sellers name off hand. I paid about $20.

The best thing you can do is leave negative feedback. As negative as you can make it. They don't like that, since it's an important element of their "bait" (99.8% positive... how can I go wrong?) I was contacted immediately about the feedback, along with a similar offer of PARTIAL refund.... IF..... I retracted the feedback. I knew I was taking a chance from the get go, so the 20 was a gamble, which as with any gamble, you need to be prepared to lose.

I promptly refused his refund, adding that he may stick my 20 where the sun don't shine, far enough that he chokes on it. I also refused to retract the feedback, and told him that I would also make it a mission to post his vendor name as one to avoid, every chance I got.

Moral of the story; avoid Chinese vendors on Ebay at all costs, unless you're in a gambling mood. It's become a plague, and as long as Ebay/Paypal is reaping their cut, it's not about to end anytime soon. Avoid, ESPECIALLY when it comes to components that are out of production. I mean think about it.... if they're hard to find here, yet they have tons of them in China, at a fraction of the price, that should set off alarm bells in your head. Ringy dingy.

Ah, found it. Ebay vendor "huayi-components". Stay away!!

And another tip; if the picture of the component shows it sitting on a piece of polyester carpeting... that should be another give away. Just saying.

Unfortunately the time to write the feedback expired as I waited for the real ones to arrive from polida2008 to be sure those others were fake.

Been building mostly overdrives and delays and never had any fake ICs from ebay coming my way but this Dyna Comp klon was a request from a friend so I ordered them on a wim without  researching the history of the OTA.

Epilogue.
The day after I posted this, the seller finally answered me back and after two days they refunded the 3GBP out of 5GBP.

At this point, I would file a complaint with Ebay. If they can refund you 3, they can refund you the full amount. What the @#$% is up with that? That's like a "no contest" plea. "Yeah, we sold you shit, but we'll keep some of your money anyway. For having to put up with your complaining. Bad buyer. Bad!!".

Is this what consumerism has come to? Puh-lease! :icon_evil:
