Hello.

Just (sorta) finished my 6th build.  But I've run into a pickle.  The effect works great.  But I'm getting no signal when I engage the bypass.  I've checked all connections.  And to me, they seem correct.  Please tell me it's just some rookie mistake....

Thanks for your advice, in advance.

I think you have board output and ouput jack connections backwards on the switch. Board output should be bottom right, output jack should be middle right.

I'm confused by this. if you get no signal, how does "the effect work(s) great"? signal is the thing we most want from an effect, or has this been changed?

it's probably just a rookie mistake. also - welcome to the forum.

[further edit :] dumb formatting ....

When the switch is in 'bypass' the input jack is jumpered to board output, not output jack as it should be.
I think he means the effect works, but in bypass there's no clean signal...because of the above.

Is this some sort of true bypass version of the Klon?

There are two versions: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/effects-projects/distortion/kc/
I'm guessing this is the true-bpass version

Yes, the footswitch is wired incorrectly.  You're grounding out the signal when switched to bypass.

Easy mistake to make, i've made it many times. Also watch out for wiring board ground and LED ground backwards on the switch, took me a while to find that once.
Glad you got it fixed anyway :)

It's tough when you do exactly what they "tell" you to do and it doesn't work.  You might send ggg a message letting them know of the error in the schematic.  Congrats on the success.
