Can I make an output buffer using a CD4049 stage?

Hey everyone, long time no see! I'm finally out of school for the summer and my first project is going to be a phaser for a friend. I plan on using a 4049 IC for the lfo, and I'll have 2 stages left over. I've seen them used as gain stages before, so can I use these as unity gain in/out buffers?

If so, how, and if not, why? I still don't know much at all about the chip (yet).

A buffer is a gain stage with the gain of 1; so by all means, 4049 can act as a buffer.

Just note that the input impedance will be the same as the input resistance.
