Confused about Electric Mistress clone

Hi guys

I've been working on a Guitar Mania "Electric Lover" kit - a MN3007 Electric Mistress clone.

There's a pad on the PCB marked "CTRL". I have no idea what it's supposed to be connected to, I can't find any mention of it in the build docs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The pad marked CTRL should go to the pedal switch. It is connected to the LED D5 which appears to be the LED that shows that the effect is engaged.
Taking CTRL to ground should illuminated LED D5.
