I built a noisy cricket mk2 amp. Would like to take
The 9 volt to 18 volt inside the case. Which doubler
Would work best.
Thanks

Raising the voltage on a LM386 does not raise the power, much. It mostly over-heats the chip.

Small/simple doublers don't support the power you hope-for from a 18V power amp.

There are other choices which will work better. BTL doubles the speaker voltage for the same supply voltage.

BTL doubles the speaker voltage for the same supply voltage ?
can you explain more?
I am using the lm386n-4 which will handle the voltage.
Hoping to get a little more headroom on it

But not the current. It is a very teeny chip inside.

Others will know more about what chips can make some power from 9V; I'm not hip on the current crop.

If  2 Watt is enough and you don't bother building a more advanced project,

here is a Marshall Guvnor with 2 LM386-3 in bridge configuration as power amp,

designed  by Michael Massberg in 2004:
