Hi!

I'm collecting parts for an Aion Deimos Tone Bender MK II Clone. I'm puzzled by something:

I just received a matched set of NPN "flat hat" Colorsound Tone Bender transistors from Small Bear Electronics.

Each transistor is in a bag with handwriting on it. I can't really decipher the handwriting (because I'm a noob!) so I'm hoping someone can help me to put the right part in the right place. I assume the 60,90,128 below is the HFe, but I'm not sure. And I don't know what the f or β numbers are. The handwriting is hard to read. See attached image:

Bag 1
60
[looks like either f or β] = 12

Bag 2
90
f or β = 25

Bag 3
128
f or β = 34

Inside the order are also three resistors for R3 (36k), R4 (110k), and R6 (8.2k). I've already soldered the recommended Deimos resistors at R3 (47k) R4 (100k) and R6 (1k).
Should I leave them in place, or swap them out for the values Small Bear provided?

Thank you!

hello matthew.wj, welcome to the forum.

I can't help you, or work out what that figure is or means - but - if you change the title of this thread to include some reference to small bear, the great man hisself is more than likely to pop-up and answer your question.

good luck.

Thanks! I managed to work it out by posting in another forum.

What I thought was an f or beta sign was (I think) a cursive "L" for leakage.

I think that circuit board is set up for PNP transistors while you bought NPN.
