That patent link is for the EH Spiral, which is another light display I didn't even know existed until recently.  Someone showed up at the EHX forum with one.

Couldn't find any other patents so maybe the simple flasher ultimately got rejected.
All the same era though.


Re the switch: I found some instructions or the 3-phase-liner.  It says the unit turns off when laying down.
