Does this count as clickbait  8) ? Obviously no symmetrical clipping in this one  :P .

ElectricDruid

Welcome!

Personally, I'm willing to let you off the clickbait title because the work is so beautiful! ;) Nice one.

Who said that symmetrical has to mean symmetrical, when you clearly meant symmetrical?  ;D

Welcome. Neat build.

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

I'm a bit curious about the drawing symmetry..
(the one underneath the enclosure.. :icon_cool:)
"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

The drawing isn't as clean as the actual build, 'cause I was still figuring things out along the way. Even though it's a very simple circuit, I spent quite a lot of time thinking about little (silly) details like the mirroring of the diode vs the LED resistor, or having two (paralleled) output caps to match the input caps that are on the 'blend' pot. :icon_rolleyes: .
But if you want I can post a pic of the drawing, of course  :) .

Now you've said it out loud, it becomes mandatory.  ;)

Haha :-) . Well, here you go then! The switch wiring is also included.

While I'm at it, maybe a few notes:
- the transistor is a BC140, hfe of about 85
- I experimented with the resistors: ended up with 360k instead of 470k, and 3k3 instead of 3k9.
- collector voltage is 6.8 volt with a 9.0v supply
- the input cap is 4n7, and a 500k pot blends in a 47n
- output cap is 2 x 10n
- added 4M7 pull-down resistors

I like the point to point "art" work.
