Hey!

So my first "DIY" attempt.  I've got the guts from a JH-F1 (minus the battery cap and footswitch).

I've bought a new enclosure, a 3PDT switch, and have my LED (with resistor).  My issue is...i've confused myself completely as to what goes where! (yes..i fell stupid!)

Anyway, i've made the layout attached as a template (view is from underside), could someone help me with what connects to where please?

Thanks in advance!
Darren

HI & Welcome..  :icon_wink:

It might appear complicated but it could save you a lot of popping trouble..

In case of your circuit OUT is grounded via Volume/Level pot, you may use the following wiring..

Last but not least, extra LED antipop wiring..

"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

Thanks Antonis,

I'll make a note of those diagrams! - just need to work out the rest now :) haha - i'll post an updated drawing with how i think it should be later in the week :)

thanks again!

NEVER EVER jumper vertically Dual Toggle switces..!!

First left column middle lug is always in contact with the upper  one.. :icon_wink:

Also, your wiring is just a mess.. :icon_redface:
No reason to connect Input jack tip to Fuzz & Vol pots..

Can't post pics from for the time being but this https://reverb.com/ca/item/19503029-jimi-hendrix-bc108-fuzz-face-diy-parts-kit-dunlop-dallas-arbiter-jh-f1-pcb-circuit-jacks may help you..
(just trace switch PCB to respective switch lugs..)

Hey!

Thanks for the reply - as for the wiring...as I day it's my first one so be kind haha!

Aside from the switch, I've actually just drawn out how the circuit was taken straight from the pedal (see pic)

I've taken a look at the link you gave me thank you!

Do you suggest starting over??? As I say I'm totally lost now :(

It may not be necessary, but grounding the input when the plug is pulled it not such a terrible idea..

Just locate 3rd picture in the above posted link.. Wire colours are indentical..
Leave battery to DC jack wiring for the end ..

Hey again guys!

I've looked...and failed again. Anyone want to buy the stuff before I throw it out the window? haha

I've attached a pic of where im at - i have 4 wires currently (marked with ?) that i dont know where they go, then i need to add power & LED.

Can someone maybe draw over my image to show me what i need to put where please? sorry for the uber newb request!

Thanks
Darren

Just want to say a massive thank you to "mcknib" - he's helped me get this working over the weekend.

I'll post the full diagram later in the week when i get chance as it could help some other newbie out later down the line!

Cheers all

No probs mate just gave you a bit of info, you sussed it yourself and rather than post a novel on here about the basics of how 3PDTs work, googling pedal internals etc PMing was easier

Like most things in this here hobby the same things done in many different ways it's all about learning yer own preferred method

I was just dissapointed you worked out the LED wiring I  was looking forward to you blowing it up! I'm a sick individual that way haha I'd already pictured your face when it went pop, damn it ya spoiled ma day!

Just posting the finished layout and the pedal should someone be doing the same in the future it may help.

Well done..!!

You could add a jumper from 3PDT switch lug 1 (left top up) to lug 6 (middle bottom down) for Input grouned when effect bypassed (anti-pop)..
Output is permanently grounded via Volume pot body resistance.. :icon_wink:
