JFET question

I need to inverse the function of a P-Channel JFET: J174. It is being used as a switch. So if I want to have the switch open rather than closed, what are the ways I could achieve that? Is a different part required here, such as an equivalent N-Channel?

in like 85% of cases an N-Channel would do the trick in pedals
