I'm only getting a buzzing/whirling sound on my Triangle Big Muff build. I checked my voltages and this is what it showed.

Q1. C-0.01, B-0.54, E- 8.04
Q1 (Flipped). E-0.05, B-0.64, C- 4.19
Q2. E-0.06, B-0.65, C-4.40
Q3. 0
Q4. C-4.45, B-1.45, E-0.87

I have two versions of Q1 (One flipped and the other one is not) since there's a comment from the forum where I got the diagram from saying the Q1's orientation is wrong. I'm not quite sure which one is the correct way to put it. I was also wondering why is my Q3 not getting any voltage, could this possibly cause the whirling/buzzing sound? I used 2N5088 instead of the suggested transistors in the diagram. Also the other end of my 100uf capacitor is receiving 9.12 volts if that information helps.

And what is that "notorious" diagram..??  :icon_wink:

(Triangle 66#8, 66#11, 72#2(p-n-p) or what..??)
"I'm getting older while being taught all the time" Solon the Athenian..
"I don't mind  being taught all the time but I do mind a lot getting old" Antonis the Thessalonian..

I'm sorry I don't know the terms since it's my first time building. I hope this photo helps instead. This is the diagram that I used

No hard feelings.. :icon_biggrin: :icon_biggrin:

By "diagram" we usually mean "schematic", like below:

P.S.
You're right about Q1 180o flipped.. :icon_wink:

It's working now, turns out I just have a few cold solder joints that needs reheating. Although my tone knob is acting much like a volume knob. Any idea what's the cause of this?

Check Red lines connectivity..
(especially between 10nF & GND and 33k & GND..)
