Hi,

I have a Boss GE-7 that sometimes can't shutdown, the only way is power off the pedal. I've checked the switch but it works fine...

Anybody can help me?

Thanks.

Do you use it with only AC adaptor or with battery too..??

Most boss pedals use JFET switching. When the switching malfunctions, it usually means one of the electronic components in the switching circuit is failing. See http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/bosstech.pdf for info.

Does holding the switch down a bit longer make a difference?  I don't know if this is germane to your Boss pedal, but Ibanez Soundtank pedals have a reputation for the cheap switches going bad.  But my understanding is that the switch isn't really failing, the flip-flop capacitors just aren't big enough to debounce the switch as it wears.  There is a mod to increase the values of these caps and it worked well on my TS-5 (they're C4 and C5 in the lower right part of the picture):

Solved!

Cold joint P1, and bad power connector.
