Hello! I'm new here, first Post! So I've Been breadboarding alot of 2-transistor fuzzes, taking bits and pieces from different existing pedals and trying to Make something "new" that I'd like. And so I came up with this:

I think it sounds great. I'm putting in a switch for The clipping since I don't care for clipping at lower gain settings.

It's based on The algal Bloom Fuzz by fuzzhugger, but mine is lower gain (orig is 5088, I used 2222) there are some other differences as Well but anyway.. I'll try to get a sound demo soon. Meanwhile, try it out, I like it alot! PS hope you can read The schematic.

All The best and Happy building!

Kevin Mitchell

Neat thanks for sharing!

And welcome to the forum!

also welcome, and can read the schem just fine. you have two 1M resistors from pot wipers to ground that can be deleted.

They might be there for signal attenuation and not for anti-pop cause.. :icon_wink:

but they might both be swamped by the 100k pots, too.

but of course.. :icon_wink:

FWIW, 100k pot in parallel with 100k Collector resistor could be a matter of argument, couldn't it..??

Middle pot with DC across it may scratch or thump.

IMHO, three pots doing the same thing at different points may confuse a player. Or it may amuse a tweaker.

But the could excessively be labeled "Sustain", "Gain" and "Level"..

"Less", "Gain", "Master" would even make a sentence.  ;)

Thanks! tried removing them but it's very  noisy, can't say that I'm super sure what they do, but it's something for sure.

Noticed this myself as well and added a .47 cap. The tree pots doing the 'same' thing don't really matter to a player as long as they're labeled somewhat logically I think. but it's for myself anyway so :) tried all sorts of different placements for the pots, and I always want to keep the amount of pots and tweaks to a minimum, but this was the setup I liked best.

good idea! thanks :)

Nice to see so many answers! thanks alot for the input!
I've got a vero board layout together and will soon start to put it into the enclosure, will post pictures and sound demo shortly, I hope.
