Hello,

New member here. Last week I build a Rangemaster clone, and I think I caught the microbe of working on these Ge transistors.

When I was looking for a chassis for a new project, I found a Geloso G300V preamp, that works either on AC or 9V battery. It uses 4x AC107 and a single AC126 transistor. It has positive ground, meaning that the tiny transformer inside the unit has a diode bridge rectifier to produce -9V as + is sent to ground. Is there any downside of using this power supply for a tone bender or fuzz face type of preamp?

I just build to learn and experiment at this point.

Cheers

Could you plz post a schematic 'cause I'm confused a bit..
(negative rectification..??)

edit: Never mind..!!

Yes, you can use it as well..
