Are these anything similar to a Fender champ or bassman preamp section?

I'm looking to build a subminiature tube cleanish and edge of breakup preamp like a fender bassman, basically anything to run pedals into. I've tried solid state amp emulations like the 59 sound but I think I may have to go tube on this.

I ran into these 2, for the 2nd, I'd try to omit the power stage:

Will they act anything like a nearly driven tube preamp? I've got a few 5672 and 5678 tubes, was hoping the 1st one would work well.

Questions like these have passed before.
A gentle "edge of breakup" which is linked to vintage amps usually refers to the poweramp section.
Pre-amp breakup of tube amps are the least complicated to emulate with solid state.
