(Slightly off topic) EMG pickup wire, shielded or not?

I hope this is ok to post here, I trust the opinions and knowledge here more than most communities.

I am working on a guitar for a friend, just cleaning up the wiring in his guitar that has two active EMG pickups installed. Here is the wiring diagram.

The original install had a very short run of shielded wire that went from the master tone knob to the output jack. I do not have any shielded wire at the moment but I have noticed that EMG seems to sell output wiring harnesses that look to be unshielded (ground and signal are just separate wires).

Is this a matter of situation and scenario? My run from the mater tone knob to the output jack is about 3.5". Wondering if I should order a small amount of shielded wire or just go for it? Thank you in advance.

I don't know, but if you shield the body cavities anyway (graphite paint or copper foil), it doesn't really matter. Active pickups will have a low output impedance, so won't be affected by interference anything like as much as passive pickups are.
