LM13700 Janglebox - Tone Switch vs Pot.

I was planning to build this LM13700 Janglebox:

I am looking to replace the tone switch with a potentiometer, and I was hoping someone out here had done this before and could recommend a pot value, as well as the preferred way to wire up the pot. 

Maybe it is as simple as:

lug 3 of the pot to Sw3
lug 2 to Sw2
lug 1 to Sw1
