(Iain - you might wish to review this statement .... "in this picture, the opamp is in the socket 180 degrees the wrong way as well:" )

jfd986 - please be so kind as to tell us the exact markings on your two blue caps fitted at C1 and C6.

Those both say 105 on them.

I'm about to buy the components needed for an audio probe now. Let me know your thoughts on the capacitors.

Do you think I need to replace or reposition the Op Amp? I thought it was in the right place but idk I could be wrong.

105 - well, that's the right value, they look very small is all. generally, in the C1 position, we'd use an electro cap, cause they are small, and an electro or a polyester/box cap at C6, because it's in the signal line. those blue monolithic ceramic caps are intended/best for supply de-couple as they have a few funny odd properties - but they shouldn't stop the workings if used here.

as for the opamp orientation - I've looked at the build docs, and I think it's the right way round. you've looked and fitted accordingly. maybe leave it as is until Iain can have another look for us both, see what he sez.

cheese.

i assumed the image of the board was bottom view as it also portrayed the traces, but it wasnt the case. looking at where the diodes are made me realise youre right

sorry for the confusion

friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.
