Hi, hope u are all ok. I have a problem with my Diy Rockett Caliber 45 clone. When i use it by itself, or as the first pedal in the chain, it has a very low noise floor. When i use it with any other pedal in front of it that has a TBP, the noise is noticibly higher. It happens even when the other effects are off. If the pedals i put in front have buffered bypass, it do not happen, the problem is with TBP pedals. I have tried several pedals before, all does the same. The noise is related to the gain, it increases as you turn up the gain, but i am so pissed becouse by itself the pedal is super quiet, even with gain at almost 80%.

I do not know what could be happening. Have searched for others having this problem but found nothing.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi & Welcome..

I'm not sure if it relates with your issue but 4558 pin 5 should be connected to pin 3 (or better to 47k/47k/470k/47μF joint) instead of GND..

As for the noise, I'd start by reducing 470k bias resistor..

P.S.
What kind of 3PDT switch wiring have the TBP pedals used..??

maybe a buffer up front might alleviate the problem, or a small cap to ground at the input of the board, to shunt to ground any radio frequency interference. 1nf might do it.

cheers
friendly reminder: all holes are positive and have negative weight, despite not being there.

cheers

Make 220pF cap 1nF, as iain said.. :icon_wink:
Tried adding a 1nF cap from input lug to ground and reduced part of the noise but not all. Tried 2n2 cap and started to change the EQ of the pedal so not an option, but did not cut all the noise anyway. On weekend i will try to change the cap you said to see if there is any change. For now, adding the 1nF helped. Thanks to both of you guys.
