Remote Switching Effects Pedals

New to the forum and very new to the DIY scene.

To cut a long story short, I've a number of effects pedals in front of my amp, one of these is a Marshall Guv'nor mk1. In the effects loop of the amp, I also have a Boss GE7.

For solos, I kick in the Guv'nor for additional drive/ compression AND the GE7 for a volume increase. However, this involves kicking 2 pedals, I want to be able to kick 1 pedal which will turn both of these one/ off.

Given the GE7 utilities a SPST switch, I figured I could install a new output jack, solder wires to the existing SPST switch, I could then build a simple SPST box, connected to the GE7 via standard guitar lead and control the GE7 remotely.  Exactly like this https://youtu.be/xszB3pAGrdw

Initially I thought I could do the same with the Guv'nor, connecting it to the same SPST box by having 2 inputs. However, the Guv'nor uses a 2PDT switch.

Can anyone provide any suggestion on how I can achieve this?

Welcome to the forum.

Rather than modifying your existing pedals, a simpler way to get what you want without damaging anything is to construct a separate (dual) looper pedal. Leave both effects on and use the looper pedal to switch both pedals in and out of the signal path(s) at the same time.

Might be possible to use a 3pdt to do the job or go for relays if you want to add more loops

Check out the geofex  link above for all manner of switching goodies

I didn't think the geofex had 2 inputs/ outputs. Appreciate they have multiple loops, but they take the same input. I'd need multiple input/ outputs too given one source is in front of the amp and the other is in the loop of the amp.

Welcome to the forum!
Remote switching is easy to do for Boss pedals, as you note, with the only significant modification being the addition of a jack of some kind (1/8" phono jack is fine), but the switch needs to be a momentary type, not latching, like you have in the Guvnor (which is why you can't just control the whole shebang from the Guvnor). As Stallik says, a looper of some sort is ideal, but you could still conceivably engineer the Boss remote idea into that, which would reduce your cable spaghetti and shorten your signal path. One switching circuit in your looper just has to be momentary.

I feel working out this is a bit beyond my capability haha!
