Pedal Clone shows DC output

Hey all,

Sorry in advanced, I don't have the schematic with me as I'm on Holiday vacation but wanted to get this question asked.

In the effort to learn Diptrace and PCB building I tried to build a TS clone with a true bypass switch by replicating it in Diptrace, ordering PCBS, and building it. And while it actually works when I test everything, the tip of the output shows about 4.5V DC at max volume... Which I know isn't correct. It should show 0 or close to it DC. Has anyone seen this? I'm lost why I'm seeing DC output.

Thanks in advance. If it's impossible without a schematic I can repost next week.

With no pics or schema, best I can do is suggest there is a missing or bad output cap allowing DC bias voltage to the output.

OR, a short across it, allowing DC to pass.

Welcome to the forum, Meidinad! :)    Get some pics of the board up and maybe we can say more!

Welcome to forum.

It suggests no "DC  blocking cap" after your output buffer. Typically there is a cap (100n?) attached to E of output transistor, then a "voltage divider" of two Rs. Possibly also that last R to ground went to VB (1/2 supply) instead of ground?
If that last cap is shorted out or leaky you would get DC. Leaky it would show less that 4.5v.

I'll check both these when I'm back at the schematic and report back. Thank you! I'm very excited for this new adventure!

I suspect that OP's TS clone is lacking in output buffer.. :icon_wink:
(due to 4.5V DC both absolute value and variability with Level pot..)
