Fuzz Face has Guitar Signal but isn't Fuzzy! (Aion FX Solaris)

When I turn on the fuzz (all knobs on max) it's like the input signal is being attenuated (or maybe as if the fuzz knob is turned down), There's the kind of change to the sound that the caps can produce but no clipping is going on. If I play really hard I can get it to clip a tiny bit. There isn't the normal volume boost either, it's about unity when volume knob is on max. Biasing Q1 and Q2 is behaving as normal.

When I plug in another fuzz (literally exactly the same, as far as I know, even down to the transistors), it works fine.

I've built many of these exact pedals or very similar (Aion FX Solaris), and modded them etc. but never had a problem. It's weird - there can't be a break in the circuit since there's still clearly a guitar signal.

Stuff I've tried so far:
• Switched out the transistors (unlikely to be those, since I've tested them, and all the others from this batch have been perfect, but I tried switching them anyways and there's no change).

• Resoldered / heated all caps and connections related to voltage / charge pump stuff.

• Replaced the charge pump / voltage inverter IC

You can see I didn't know what I was doing - I thought it might be power/voltage related, ha, despite the bias looking fine ...and doing all that didn't change anything.

Any thoughts / ideas would be appreciated! I'm hoping this has happened to someone before and they'll say "oh, it's just xyz".

I found the problem! It was C6, the 22uF cap connected to the fuzz pot. In retrospect this makes perfect sense- probably there only place that can have an issue and still have guitar signal. Ahh sounds so good now
