Hi all.
I just bought a RIFT pedal from Aion. I have some tested Mullard OC71 ge transistors. Is it possible to change the one that comes in the kit for the OC71?? any experiences???

Forgive my ignorance. I thought the Aion RIFT is an octave fuzz pedal with NPN silicon transistors?
"A classic untamed fuzz from the 1970s that adds an octave-up overtone, famous for its use by Pete Townshend of The Who".

An OC71 is a PNP germanium transistor so where in the circuit did you think this would be useable?

OC71s, wired as current mirror, could replace 10k (R18) in 2N3903s long-tail pair but PCB should need some mods.. :icon_wink:

Seriously now: Without any PCB mod, the only place where they could go, wired as diodes, is the hard clipping diode pair..

P.S.

Thank you I'm kinda first timer in pedal making... In fact I finished my RIFT and tone is not working, everything else is ok. Also I get too much noise (some kind of buzz) when I turn down guitar volume halfway. Any clues???

Thank you very much

It's always good to have a schematic to refer on .. :icon_wink:

Now, by "tone is not working", what exactly do you mean..??
