I scored these two off of an old Zenith Radio: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/zenith_h845_ch_8h20.html

See this tiny one used to send 6v to bulbs, that could be a dedicated heater psu with good current.
The output psu has nice options as a stand alone. There are two secondaries, with a 120v input, you get : 6.6v and 37.9v that was used as feedback to tube.
Use the 6.6v to heaters, double the 39v to plate...

Which are you using? The output transformer or the power transformer? I would not use the output to power a valvecaster.

Go to a thrift store and buy a wallwart and save the OT for when you decide to make a tu8be amplifier (we know you will want to).

What they said.  Since the VC is so simple and easy to power, no need to go overboard! :)

Do play with it...I don't think you'll find too much 'guitar greatness' if you get up over 30V or so, however.  They just get cleaner with higher voltage! That is more important in multi-stage preamps with say, 3 12AX7s that you feed in cascade, so you have multiple opportunities to clip.  2 triode stages are limited in the amount of clipping they'll give you, hence these low volt VC circuits which 'overcome' that...

Do you use a tube amp with your new VC?  Things like this shine when they are used in front of a tube amp.

Ok, Ok,...
Well I'm not using this on the current circuit, I was just planning my futur.
So yea, an amp, or preamp.
I realize this stuff can take much space on a pedal board, so probably I will do a nice audio preamp.

After you have mastered the VC, the next logical step is to start building tube preamps....https://www.valvewizard.co.uk/

I just bought a new pair of goggles and headlight, will dive into that rabbit hole very soon!

I also had a habit of starting many projects at once, so now, I will do that VC project very well, then move on. I might even do a point to point built with vintage wire and all.

That would be a great way to approach this!  With terminal strips and all.
