Replace an SAD1024A with an even rarer SAD512D?  It boggles the mind!!

Yea, sure! I seemed to recall that CD cases were square but that's just mental bit-rot. They are about 10% off of square, perhaps so they rack predictably.

So you need to go to a lot of Boomer Estate Sales.
