Hello,
Where would a 1 ohm 1/4 watt resistor be used ?
Would they work as jumpers ?

Jumpers.   I think they're not high enough rated for meter shunting.  Anyone else?

For up to 500mA current sensors, in (not so rare) case of DMM current mode blown fuse.. :icon_wink:

They work fine for power vacuum tube bias-current taps, less-than 500mA.

They can also work as transistor power-amp emitter resistors up in the part-Watt several-Volt range.
