Help me mod my Deluxe Memory Man

Hey y'all!

Today I was given a Deluxe Memory Man with dual MN3005's! Only problem is, I don't have the proper power supply, nor do I want to use a wall wart for this. How could I mod it to accept negative ground, 9 or 18v DC? Do I need to remove the step down transformer? Am I in over my head?

There is a commercial (expensive) product designed for this. Wonder how difficult it would be to roll your own?
