Non-slip rubber source in the EU?

Does anyone know where I can get hold of that non-slip rubber that covers the bottom of many effects pedals? I've got several types of rubber feet, but I want something more substantial that will cover the entire back panel.

My wife will kill me if I snip another square out of the mat in the car's passenger footwell ;)

I did a quick search for self adhesive rubber sheeting and found a number of UK suppliers but prices seem very high. Perhaps a new car mat from Halfords would last you?

Oh, I forgot for a minute. We left the EU (in order to break everything with impunity)

Search for "tool box liner", "tool drawer liner", "workshop drawer mat", or suchlike. These are typically heavy non-slip rubber mats and can be had in a variety of hardnesses and thicknesses. Should be possible to find one that suits your taste. I would try the local hardware store first but there are also tons of these things on Amazon.

Ooh, thanks Andy. Those are not search terms I'd have ever thought of.

What do you call that stuff you have on the top of your wah pedal? It's probably made specifically though, isn't it? In fact, wahs are funny because they often have a full sheet of rubber on the treadle part where you put your foot, and just some fairly hard plastic feet underneath! So although your foot won't fall off it, it'll still skate about on a tiled floor!

It is probably commercial kitchen runner. A restaurant kitchen floor can be a mess. Ribbed rubber makes wet valleys and dryer ridges, better footing, less tracking slosh and smoosh out into the customer side.

If you are just doing "a few", you want to find the folks who mat large kitchens all the time. Ask at the restaurant supply shop: they may only do pots and spices, but they or a customer will know who has mat-scraps around.

A band mate had a wah on which he stuck a Carlsberg bar mat. Looked great. He referred to it as "Probably the best wah in the world"

I should hope not with a pun like that!  ;D

What about that grippy rubber mesh stuff you can get for putting your phone on the car dashboard without it sliding around?  You can get something similar for "fixing" rugs to shiny floors.  (Search "anti-slip mat" on the Bay.)

You guys in the US certainly seem to have a lot more options for this than we do over here. All the hits I'm getting come up with US sites.

I'm in Portugal, so perhaps I should think more local - maybe sticky cork tiles are the way to go?!? We have *tons* of that stuff around here! You can buy anything you like made out of cork in this country - wallets, hats, wall tiles, roof insulation, handbags, you name it...

Perhaps grip tape to give it that "what now tile floor?!" attitude? Or at least for the top on the wah...or at least for the skate punk pedals

Cork looks cool but may not be non-slippery enough. I think your search problem is language related. Most English Google hits will be from the US as a matter of course. Try directly searching Amazon. Portuguese Amazon may have a limited selection on account of Portugal being a small country but Spanish, French, German, or Italian Amazon will have what you need and many sellers will ship within the EU for free or cheap. And searching in English works better even on non-English Amazon these days because many sellers just barely manage to translate their product descriptions from Chinese to English but certainly not to Italian or German.

Router non-slip pad, like Bluebunny's photo, is Turkey part of the EU?

I use a piece of this under my kitchen cutting board and it stays put, cut another hand sized piece for opening stubborn jars, non-slip grip makes it easy and the piece I use has held together for years.

Not sure where this company's based, maybe UK.

Dave's right: all sorts of variations and usages for pretty much the same kind of product.  We've got some small versions for jars.  There's something in IKEA's catalogue intended as an anti-slip rug underlay ("synthetic rubber").  Worth a drive to LoulĂ©?

OP Tom is on the Portugal side of the Turkish border. (I know, it gets confusing...)

I "frequently" get results using the same ASIN (ID number) in US, Can, or UK URLs of Amazon. (Cut off /ref_ and everything after the number or it gets confused.)

There are also rubber mats sold for putting under home trainers like treadmills and stationary bikes. These are meant to be robust and non-slip, are quite cheap and seem to mostly come in thicknesses of about 1-2 mm. So that should fit the bill, no? Available at lots of sporting goods stores as "floor protection mat" or something like that. Careful though, they sell other stuff under that name too, which are softer and more impact absorbing and may not be non-slippery or robust enough. Do you have Decathlon in Portugal?

Yes, we have Decathlon in Portugal.

In the end, I found something suitable in Leroy Merlin, the French DIY chain. They have quite a lot of different sticky feet and non-slip pads, and have 4"x4" squares of sticky-backed rubber amongst it.

Maybe a little late, but I found some from from a conveyor belt supplier. They had all sorts of thickest lthicknesses as well. I got some 4mm thick fur under my speakers.

Also a little late but for future reference: Gorilla Grip drawer and shelf liner, if you can find something like that. It's a woven, rubbery sheet sold in rolls. Very thin, too.
