Hi-

Just finished up a couple AION builds Cepheus (cornish cc-1) and Proteus (DA Fuzzface). Usually get more elaborate with enclosure finishing but kept these simple and think they actually look kind of classy ( ;) .... and a lot less time and inhaling bad fumes...

Played around a bit with clipping diodes on the CC-1 but ended up thinking some old 1n914's that I had sounded the best.  I had some old Hewlett Packard non-standard Shotky diodes that were a close second but my ears seam to validate what was in the original BOM.

For the Fuzzface I settled on a pair of very old RCA 3687 transistors ... I stumbled across a bunch of these awhile back and sorted through them all to pick out a good pair (75 Hfe and 0.1ma leak for Q1 and 112 Hfe and .120 ma leak on Q2 acording to my Peak tester). Biased right to instructions (.7 / 4.5 v).  I tried some Russian ones I had that actually had a little more gain for Q2 and almost no leakage but the RCA's sound better to me ... brighter and more articulate but pleanty of gain and fuzz and cleans up nice.

Thanks to everyone on this board who has helped me in the passed !
