fuzz face voltage drop, octave down issue

this fuzz face has been shaping up on the breadboard for a couple weeks. Yesterday i decided i was pleased with it and put it to stripboard.
The switch at C3, between Q1 C and B, should change the sound of the fuzz, albeit subtly. I think this is filtering some highs. however on the stripboard i get a sub octave being produced. after some time i determined that the length of jumpers was this issue. i removed the test jumpers at the stripboard and soldered on a switch and now it behaves as a subtle filter again. at the breadboard i could add jumpers and re create the problem. Or  double up the jumpers in parallel and eliminate the problem.

My question is this, when wire length creates a problem what is the best way to address it? Is there a better solution than parallel wires to fight wire resistance? I have a circuit bent pt2399 style delay with a somewhat similar breadboard>stripboard issue and i bet ill need this info when i reattempt diagnosing that one.

If you must cross other wires...esp input and output wires (really a big no no!), do so at right angles.

Including a ground wire along with a signal wire (grounded at one end only) and twisting them as Antonis said, can help reject noise signals from coupling.  Running wires along the 'chassis' (enclosure) is good practice.

Really sensitive runs benefit from using a wire with an integrated shield which is again grounded at only one end. Inputs to high gain pedals/stages may REQUIRE this...I include this in any preamp I build...sometimes I just use shielded wire from an old RCA cable or something like that, as long as that shield wire/braid is present and 'wraps' the inner conductor  ;)

[ SprinkleSpraycan - a heads up. if you post images at 10,000 pix x something resolution, people will casually click on it to enlarge, and then their machine will freeeze - with no indication as to why, and no way to find out what is causing, 'cause, well, it's locked up.

this is not to say don't post circuit diagrams, just resize them sensible is nice. carry on. ]
