Where should I place GND?

A17 or Y1? I think Y1 is more appropriate, but should I move C1 (filter cap) as close to the GND point?

With that great big solid green wire down the centre, I don't think it's going to make any electrical difference at audio frequencies. Put it wherever is most convenient.

I've got some 1000ft spools of wire and have been tempted to build the world's largest point-to-point fuzz "pedal", zig zagging across my ~1 acre property. Partly for the fun and novelty of it, partly out of curiosity, and partly to demonstrate how forgiving low fidelity audio circuits really are and how silly some arguments about PCB layout can be.

This particular circuit, in a slightly different form, has already been built. It's dead quiet even unshielded. Still, I do believe that it's good form to design a board as "correctly" as possible. In fact, I'm going to reshuffle things a bit so that I can totally remove that big solid ground wire going right through the middle.

I mean, like so.

(I could either place V+ right next to GND, and use a 2-pin socket, or leave it where it is; with the DC barrel jacks I have, it is actually more convenient not to use a socket since they already come with their own wires).

A bazz fuss would probably make the most sense to keep it simple. Insofar as any circuit makes sense to build like this (probably no sense).
