Component Tester Discharge?

Yea, silly question etc - but I've meant to ask this a few times now. How exactly do I discharge the tester before testing anyway?

I think what it means is that you must discharge the circuit/capacitors under test before using to avoid damaging the tester.

Yeah, discharge WHAT?????

They mean any capacitor you want to test. Inductors can store energy but not very well. Capacitors sure can hold energy, sometimes for days.

Just short the leads together. (Yes, that's dangerous on VERY large caps, but this is a pedal forum.)
