Hi, here is mine clone and modded power supply instead of transformer. Mod allow to use of shallower enclosure.
I used this DC to DC converter and chose dual 15v and wired directly to regulator inputs instead diode rectifier:

I did use fast diode at power input just in case if wrong polarity is plugged to protect DC converter.

FYI,  lietuvis's approach is valid too.   The key difference is he keeps the existing +12V/-12V TO-92 regulators and feeds them with +/-15V DC.    If you keep the regulators you need to feed them with more than +12V/-12V.

There's many ways noise can get in:
- switching currents
- ripple voltage
- magnetically coupled noise from the inductors/transformers

Hi, no noise issues at all, it was recommended by design to feed to regulators to have low noise on power rails. I used with linear and smps power supplies and had no issues ever. The only noise is what circuit produces on its own.
It was a while when I built compressors and still always ON pedal today.
First I had a sort of a clone of it and then redesigned PCB to fit all of its circuit to 1590A enclosure. Unfortunately I cannot find PCB files to share here.

That's amazing fitting that into a 1590A, Lietuvis. Looks great!

Done and dusted and working a treat! Replaced the corroded potentiometers, LED's, jacks and gave the board a good scrub.

Thank you to everyone who helped out via this thread and DM's. It all helped this noob out no end and also picked up valuable information on the way.

On further inspection there is quite a big drop in bypass volume. Is that just the nature of the beast after doing this mod or can some of the values be changed in the buffer stage to bring the volume back up?
