Well this was an adventure.

*deep breathe*

So I changed the soft clip diodes to Si and that seemed to do the trick (for now)
I fell out of love with the Variable bass drive control because I really only used it on 2 settings and the settings in between weren't exactly jaw dropping (sorry Mark and Rob) so I replaced it with my switch between two caps like my original design from July.

I'm sorry Antonis but I had to move the soft clipping arrangement back up to the feedback path because I wasn't getting the sustain I wanted in the previous location (still no crackle yet)

I currently don't have a gain knob. I'm trying to work out where I want to put it. The fuzz face one gets really dark and muddy at low gain settings and its kinda blegh

On the topic of gain; I switched the 22uf in the soft clipping stage to 4.7uf because 22uf was pretty high gain and that was contributing some to the problems.

I added low pass filtering to several places as the highs were kinda harsh. I have to work new values out for the body control and for the cap before the soft clip diodes so I can have more bass. (The Si took out a lot of bass)

I'm gonna be pretty busy today but I'll try and get a schematic in to you all at some point. Hopefully the crackle stays dead.

Any other thoughts while I get the schematic up?
