Anyone built a 1073 in a pedal?

Definetely am using transformers, as they add a bit of "je ne sais quoi" to the sound, well distortion and phase shifts really :D

Optoisolators can acheive galvanic isolation (if the two sides have separate power supplies) but the main reason for using transformers is CMRR, which the optos don't give you.

If it is not transformer, it's not NEVE. Anybody who thinks that is as deaf as I am.

I had buttered salmon for lunch.

Sure I could have used colored hydrogenated coconut oil, but it's not the same.

I would like to understand this hostility towards transformers in the audio path.  Many folk who are very in to gear seem to adore them.  I myself do not use them on account of pure sour grapes:  I cannot afford the good ones. I would happily rid any one of their turbulent iron as a charitable service.

Not reading hostility, rather the opposite.

But they do cost serious money, so that is a factor, I suppose.

The salmon looks great, be sure to leave it on the skin as long as you dare, crispyness!

just test breadboard pattern, and try perfboard for firs time, this is the smallest I can get.
Not yet tested for real component, please fix by yourself.
Board 284A = 283A, 284B = 284C, only 283C is different, but with 3055 and transformer, I dont
think would be fit.

Also notice

theres a component outside board, like filter, and miller like cap,
for guitar, maybe can try 284A or 283A with T connect to 1k pot as gain,
and 10k for volume.

If it was possible to get good transformers cheap then I would not suggest other means of getting isolation and I suppose the 82 Hz low end of a guitar (but not the 41 Hz low end of a bass) does not require expensive transformers.  Last year, the London Vintage Radio Club (London, Ontario) had a group buy of 10 interstage transformers from Hammond and they were $60 each for a run of ten of them.  These were not high fidelity by any stretch of the imagination.  Good transformers would cost more.

Modulating an RF carrier and demodulating it offers transformer coupling at a higher frequency which means only a few dozen turns of wire, not thousands and the audio quality does not depend all that much on transformer quality.

Linear optoisolation can be done with no more than a few pF of coupling from the transmit to the receive side which would be less than the coupling of a transformer.

What a transformer offers is no need for other circuitry on the receive side.  You have to decide whether this is worthwhile.

Tone like baxandall  :o

with fixed 10nF, frequency > 220Hz

B284B is inverting output

would not be easier if using dual opamp?  :icon_mrgreen:

Lucky path no inductor for presence  ;D
