I managed to get some Ge's to bias in there. I was using the 3906's and a 5089, whcih were for some reason gatey and low output in the ckt.[cold solder or wiring...actually I think aI had a bad tranny]...anyway with the Ge's in there the 'character' and output value both went up markedly. I'll of course try a darlington for Q1, but it totally Roxx already with a high gain Ge there...
Straight through this it sound mostly 'ringy modular', but as there's a first time for everything [I had been always putting the Fuzz before the octave thinking it would kick it in more which it does].
Then I put the Blackfire after it...now That's BIG !!! A very well pronounced octave efkt. Quite Nasty !!
I figured [or guessed] that driving the wild octave in a Fuzz would just be too much noise, more wierdness than a Fuzz would be able to deal with, and still be predictable at all...but I now know if that's the theory...it's wrong...the Fuzz loves to be 'Octavated', at least in this experiment.
I had almost given up on the Tycho, but pulled it out and started swapping Q's and werkin' trims...it's all boxxed up now and in the mix!!
FTM is great Octave [thicker octave], But the character of the Tycho is where I think I'll be getting most of my octave efkt. from. I had a Green Ringer [low output] and will have to get another one put together...that's a super kool Octringer type efkt. as I recall also.
I named the Octeffect....X2 [twice as many waveform events come out as go in].

Yesterdays Tycho seemed to werk perfect with the ge's in it.
Todays tycho OTOH starts off with a low freq boatmotor sound-oscillation that pitches up as I wave my hand over Q1 or touch it...A TYCHO THeremin [of sorts]...so to get through the recording I just set that Q on on the over the tube heater elements [the ST70 Dynaco doubles as a hand warmer].
The Theremin part even got recorded as it's a sound with interessting character [not that I'k wanna hear more that a few seconds of it but makes a very interesting cameo appeearance in the mix! basically its like amplitude goesup/pitch goes down and vice versa as it is heated.
Now that I have a tape recording of that Ill probly go back in and bias some more !!!
