Anyone ever build this one?

Anyone ever try building the vibrato circuit at Laurier's Handy Dandy Circuits? I built it a couple of weeks ago but tested it last night. It sounds pretty nice, a more subtle tremolo effect than the EA Tremolo, but pleasant sounding. And it's very quiet. I think I would maybe change the 1uF electrolytic cap to something smaller, though. It sounds a little dark at the moment...

Look under "Project"  --> "Guitar Effects" --> "Vibrato/Tremolo" at http://members.shaw.ca/roma/

It's the vibrato circuit at the bottom of the page.

I'm not suprised it is "dark"! Try replacing C5 with a resistor, maybe 10k to start.
Or swap C5 and the LDR in order.
(warning: I havn't tried this myself, just looking at the ckt)

Mr. Perry,

Are you looking at the one at the bottom of the page called "vibrato"?
C5 is shown as a 10uF electrolytic cap. There is no LDR on the vibrato circuit...

I was thinking the input cap labeled C4 (1uF electrolytic cap) was maybe a little too big. I was thinking that maybe a 0.68uF or so might brighten it up some.

The effect option sounds cool, kind of a tremolo effect. I wouldn't say that this circuit sounds like a true vibrato, though. But, nonetheless, a nice sounding circuit.

I see he uses PCB wizzard for his layouts and illustrations. ;)
