hello there, i'm new here, but not to electronics/modding pedals.  And this little problem is a doozy, so maybe yous guys can help eh?

1)  Effect doesn't work, unless i solder a wire From the Output jack, to the base of Q-1

2)  When it finally does decide to work; i get note decay, and Basically just doesn't sound right.  All transistors are Biassed Properly, Q-1 is a GErmanium, and Q2 is an MPSA18.

Now for Effect 2:

Sovtek BMPi:

i modded this one to kingdom come;

i have to pluck the string decently hard To get it to distort, and when it does distort, it doesn't stay distorted.  it fades out and Goes back to the guitar being clean.

Hope yous guys can help, i'm at a loss on this one.  or 2.

Thanks soooo Very much  :D

And FaQ.
GEO article Tech of the Fuzz Face is good to re read.
if the tranny's are reading the 'right' voltages, there may be a miswire,
octacheck the transistors and polarized cap pinout.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Yun,
maybe this would help:

1) change the 33K stock resistor to 50K trimmer or pot

2) change the 8.3K stock resistor with 10K pot or trimmer, wchever you like....

set the 10K to mib position.. then adjust the 50K trimmer until you get a nice sounding fuzz (note: set your fuzz control to max)... I think thats all there is to it.....

That how mine sounded until I changed the 33K with a trimmer...

BTW, put 1K in series with the 50K pot to prevent shorting the Q1 .....

cya... :o
