Is this the correct diode for the original MXR Dist. Plus? I didn't realize it was being made anymore. What other changes would have to be made to use it in the Dunlop reissue Dist. Plus? Thanks.

Yeah, that's the one in there, based on a tracing I have of one from 1979.  The 1N34 or 1N69 can substitute fine for it, though.  I dare you or anyone else to identify audible differences that DON'T stem from simple part to part variations in forward voltage drop.

Thank you Mark, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my newbie questions. It's fustrating to be clueless in effects when I'm not too bad in the axe or amp department. I'm just looking for the pride and satisfaction of building and playing quality clones of my favorite vintage pedals. I'm one of those "hobby maniacs" that must soak up all knowledge on the subject, have every tool...you get the picture! I can't get that deep with anymore new hobbies! Not enough time, money, or hair left on my head. I've always loved the sound of the Dist.+, so I figured that's my first project. I've modded a few ts-9's to 808 specs, and  do all the wah mods, buts that's just paint by numbers work.  Hopefully, I'll get past that stage.

Thanks again.

Oh, you WILL get past that stage my friend.  Not just because there are plenty of folks here only too pleased to help someone who is motivated, but because if you DON'T reach that stage, we will find out where you live, come to your house and HURT you!!

Fret Wire

No problem! lol. Just bring chicks, beer, and strats, in exactly that order   . And plenty of 9v batteries!

Seriously, thanks, I always appreciate any help I get.
