Do I really need to buy one of these fancy fulltone or teese pots to have a decent wah or is it hype.
Any opinions on what inductors sounds good?
Seems there is the teese, the fulltone and two different ones from Dunlop?
Too dang many to try them all anytime soon.

The first time I modded my dunlop wah I used a Fulltone Pot and Fulltone Inductor. I later had to replace the pot, because it just wasn't working right, probably my own fault, over-soldering or whatever. I replaced it with a Dunlop pot. And, truthfully I can't tell the difference. The dunlop even seems more sturdy, plus it is completely sealed, so no dirt and dust gets in there and causes it to get scratchy.

On the other hand, I would say the most important part is indeed the inductor. I really like the sound of my Fulltone inductor, plus the vox wah layout from phillip at Fuzz Central.

I wonder how the new Dunlop Fasel Re-issue sounds, its $10 less than the fulltone.

Hey Ansil,  I must have done something wrong in writing to morely about the wah inductor.  They basically told me to send my pedal in and they would repair it, oh well.

Anyone know where to get inductors that will sound good?  I heard that some italian and a brand called Halo were good, but I can't find anyone who sells them.

Thanks, Matt.

Excuse me for my silliness, but I've never really understood what an inductor does in a wah ckt. What does it do?  :?
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Ansil

its like this..

a parallel inductor circuit will notch only the freq's above and below the notch point. where as a series circuit will only filter out the value of the set freq.

kind of like having an eq pedal that manipulates a certain freq and manipulates it back into your feedback path..

i use them for notching out a 1khz signal in my gutiar.

ps did you tell them that your pedal was already in the local repair shop..  if you didn't do that they won't send you one. if you did do that they are probally not doing that anymore..  did you email them or call.. you have to email them they will tell you on the phone to send it in all day long.
