I 'm getting ready to test my Deluxe Electric Mistress! I have the 4013 and the SAD1024 removed from the board, and before I insert them, I have just a few concerns.  I have all the B+ voltages at all the required pins, and there appears to be no shorts. My voltage coming out of my 15v regulator seems higher than I think it should be. On the reg. output pin I get 16.6v, and at all the chips that I do have inserted, I'm getting 17.2v!.  I have 2 9v's in series feeding the regulator, as I'm just testing with them, because I will be using MAX1044 charge pump circuit, not an xfmr. Are these safe voltages for me to go ahead and put my $15 dollar, becoming extinct, SAD1024 in?

I'm down to the final test, I don't want to fry anything.... Thanks all

An SAD1024's max voltage is 17...  I don't know, I'd check your connections/regulator before continuing just to be reeeeally safe.  If your clock generator ouputs more than 17, check everything, definitely.. and check the V at the SAD1024's Vdd, make sure that's not more than 17.

Thanks Colin...  I'm gonna try another reg. I could see if something was dogging the voltage down, but this is the opposite, so I'll try that 1st..
Will let ya know how it goes...

New reg. is putting out 16.4 and I'm getting 17.3 @ all the Vcc's.  :(
The 2 batteries are feeding the reg. with only 17.6v, is this too low to be feeding it with, perhaps?

Hmm hmm hmm... I'll let someone else step in who has done an EM before and give their peice.
