Hi there i built Aron's Nelson Hornet today. I used one AC127 NPN germanium for Q1 with hfe 130 and a 2N5088 with hfe 460 for Q2. At first i used Aron's values for the trimpots, and of course i was not satisfied with the sound. Then i set the trimpots trying to get the collector voltages that Aron's circuit had . In order to achieve collector voltages of 0.822V for Q1 and 3.6V for Q2 i set trim1 for 0.822V at Q1. For 3.6V at Q2 i changed the setting at the trimpot of Q2's Collector. But this setting caused a change at Q1 collector Voltage too. So i set trim1 to get 0.822V and adjusted the trimpot at Q2's emitter to get 3.6V at Q2 without change at Q1. The feedback trimmer has been left at 45.9 -46K setting. I like how it sounds now , it gives much screaming and lots of distortion. But i don't know exactly how it should sound and if my trimmer setting procedure is correct. Any suggestion to get the best of this pedal? I also noticed that when the circuit is powered by a AC adapter there is a little screaming at the background.

Got a buncha FF derivitaves and accompanying literature on differnt Q's for FF and related pin voltages...I use the articles there as a guide for biasing different Q's in a FF,
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
