I built a stack in a box from Paia a few years ago and well it has a good sound I was expecting more from it.  I keep finding dead links to different mods that sound like what I'm looking for so I'm dying to find them.  Could anyone help me out?  Where do I find them? :?

do you use the fx loop if not. you can change the resistor on it for more gain.  also use a larger pot for the gain control into the second tube.

add another diode capacitor ladder to the circuit to get more voltage out of it.   patch a compressor in there on some perfboard and use the first gain knob as a compressor

These sound good, I'd like to try them out.  I don't use the FX loop so that first mod is something that I could do but I'm not sure which resitor you're talking about.

There are two resitors (680K) between the FX loop and the drive control.  Are these the ones that I should replace?  You said resitor (singular) so it threw me, but now that I'm looking at it more only one matters without the fx loop.  Those are probably the ones that you mean?  Should I change it up or down.

Also you suggested  changing the pot going into the second tube.  Do you mean the Drive control?  As far as I can see it doesn't go back into the second half of the 12AX7 (but I don't know that much).

I was also thinking of changing the pot in the IC gain stage (which is also what you might be talking about).  Would this lead to any unwanted IC distortion?

I think that most of these questions come from the fact that I'm not that familiar with how tubes amplify.  I'll go read up so that I don't have to ask so many questions next time.

Thanks alot for your help, this is something I really want to do.
