I have had the most excellent idea! On my site I am going to make a database with parts & substitutes etc. But I cannot do this alone! If you know a part that can be subbed for another, email me with "stompbox" in the subject line please!

This has a few good sites, but I was thinkin more of a "I can't get a 2n5089! What can I use that has almost as much gain and that I can get?"

..any parts sub scheme that would answer all questions of this form, would be impossibly huge, surely. You are asking for a "parametric search engine" but able to point you to "close" components that happen to be in your parts drawer!

I was thinking more of in the realm of stompbox building, not every IC, transistor, JFET, MOSFET, diode etc in existence...

But I'm having trouble designing the damn page in the first place, my programming skills are lacking, if not non-existent. :roll:
