Unused IC pins?

I've just finished soldering up all components of the Insanity Box and all I got is hum. This is the same thing I had before. This is the second time I did this insane box. The common thing I did with the two is that unsused (those connected to nothing in the circuit) IC pins weren't soldered to the board. Does it has something to do with that?

Thanks for any help

Oh yeah!

I decided I'd tie pins 6 and7 tgether and nowhere else, and put pin 5 to ground...
If you're using IC 1b....that would be different
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Have you done this insane box also? Did it work for you?

Hum could also be a grounding problem, somewheres.

Sorry guys, stupidity strikes again.

In the layout, I thought those jumpers are optional components. I never had them. After few checks, I found out that one of pots' lug is not connected anywhere in the circuit where a jumper is supposedly there.

Now the circuit works but needs a bias to stop gating.

Well, it's my first time to encounter a layout with jumpers. Can't really blame myself  .

Thanks.
