Subs trans for stupid BMPi again

I'm about fed up with trying to find these stupid 2N5089 or 5088 transistors, is there anything else i could use that's possible available as a temp solution from RatShack until i get my 5089s?

I got my 5089's in and changed them all..didnt really notice that big of a difference..I went to mouser for mine..Steve at small bear has them too.

Just pick up any NPN small signal transistor that radio shack has....

They have a grab bag full of them...

Some of them sound really good.

Seriously, 5088 and 5089 are general purpose transistors, so you can use *any* NPN you have got. Try with BC549, for example.

in that setting in the big muff a stanadrad 3904 can be used but most of te time is noisy..  you can alway make it with ic sockets and later put in the 5089.. do you need some transistors i got a small sack of misc. transistors that i got from stripping an old tv and radio combo

2N3391's, BC239's, and MPSA-18's should work fine.

durr, i didn't even think to use the trannies i'd ripped from a whole mess of TV repair modules (thank god for ex-TV repairmen leaving big boxes of stuff lying around)  anyway, thanks for the info, and hopefully my "Blur My Pitch"  pedal will work... that name implies a modu effect i think, but blur-fuzz, sorta similar.
